Car Sales Professional
We all decided to pursue one profession or another at some point in our life and the car salesman is no different. Yet they remain the subject of jokes and used as a reference when someone is talking about a person that is deceitful, or unscrupulous. The modern day auto sales associate has to perform their daily work while constantly defending themselves and shaking the poor image that their customers have of them. Can you think of more than one or two jobs where you start at a disadvantage every single day or your work life?
Why the Car Salesman
When you do business with a company and get charged too much does that make all companies crooks, that's what is going on with the car salesman and his industry. There is a saying about one ruining it for the whole group, but is it fair when it comes to the sales person. There is no reason to do business with a car salesman or a dealership that is anything less than professional. The consumer that buys a vehicle today is more educated and in control, they can walk out and buy from the next dealership if they are not comfortable and they usually do.
We all have bills to pay and the automobile salesman is no different except that they make their living selling cars. They are not living on welfare or being supported by the government. They are getting up and going to work every day like most of the population. They work hard for their money and deal the same kinds of problems that we all deal with on a daily basis. They are just like anybody going through the daily grind and making ends meet.
The car salesman has the opportunity to make a very good living which astonishes most people when they think about it. Wouldn't you say that 100K a year as a auto sales associate is a nice income. Not everyone that sells car makes great money, but the true professionals can. That is a very respectable sum no matter what you do for a living. Most people wish they had a chance to bring home six figures a year.
You might say the money is good, but the car salesman has to lie or cheat people to earn that kind of money. That may have been how it was years ago, but not today. The automobile salesperson that earns 100K today is a serious professional and there is no room for unethical tactics. They are there to guide, counsel and help the buyer so the customer can make the best choice. When you purchase a vehicle from a true car sales professional there is a very good chance you will return many times down the road.
Hopefully you will think about the car salesperson the next time you find yourself looking for a new vehicle and realize that they are doing a job the same way as you do yours. They are just like you and me or anyone and they are just trying to earn a living which happens to involve selling cars. You might come upon a less than professional car salesman, but they are fading away so give it a little time and they will all change their ways or move on. The next time you buy a car perhaps a little respect is in order. You are the consumer and there is no reason to buy unless you are completely satisfied with the service and the process. It's your money and you decide how you spend it.
