Searching for a new career, did you think about an auto sales career? You are presently witnessing one of the ideal times in the job market to start a car sales career. Today the car makers are taking more responsibility for the satisfaction of the car buyer and their car buying experience. As a way to make the car business more professional, the car dealerships, auto makers and even the sales people are taking steps to improve their image. The less than desirable car salesman image from the past is hard to change, but things are getting better as the car salesman is learning to become a true car sales professional.

The car business is slated for growth for many years to come and so is the need for anybody that is interested in a car sales career. The myth that an automobile salesman should be a smooth talker and outgoing is false, they only need to be able to communicate with people. Top car sales people can be introverts, extraverts, timid, loud and anything else, but none of those make successful car salesmen. A persons personality traits will not determine your success as a car salesman, but your ability to deal with people will. The car salesman career is not a good fit for many people, but then no career is good for everyone.

You may not have considered an auto sales career as a possibility, but maybe you should. The day to day life of a car salesman is full of benefits, perks and can also provide a great income. It's not unusual to hear an ex-car salesman talk badly about selling cars, but if you dig deeper you will find that they were not a very good salesman. Turnover is high in the car sales field because most people think they can sell cars as easy as letting the customer tell them which one they want. Sorry, but that is not the case when it comes to selling cars. Unfortunately there is some work involved in selling cars and being a car salesman or saleswoman.

Not everyone has the luxury of going to college, but if you want to make good money without college consider a car sales career. You would have to go a long ways to find an auto dealer that requires their car sales people to have gone to college. There are very few jobs and careers where you can earn six figures without college and having a degree. Prior car sales experience is rarely a requirement because they would rather train you on their system. You will be required to go through training on the sales system and method that the dealer uses, but they will provide that so you can start to make the big bucks.

There are many benefits that are enjoyed by the good car salesman, for instance you have a different experience every day, demonstrator car, ability to check out and drive the newest cars and the inside info for buying a car. As with any job or career, one of the first concerns is earning potential and that is the best part because the car salesman controls their own income.
